Carrie Liske, MA RCC

I am an Art Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor offering counselling services in person in Nanaimo and online. I value genuine connection, integrity and creativity. I approach everything I do with a sense of humour. I love to encourage the use of art in session to facilitate healing and make counselling fun. My approach is client-centered, however, so it is up to you whether you do art or talk therapy. I specialize in parent support, trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, autism, eating disorders, challenging behaviour and FASD. I strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, including culturally safe and LGBTQIA2S+ supportive services.

I live in Nanaimo with my partner, three children and a flock of chickens. In my spare time, I can be found gardening, creating art and exploring the trails and beaches on this beautiful island.

My eclectic approach to counselling draws from several theoretical orientations tailored to meet the needs of your specific situation. I have training in Alderian counselling, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialetical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Strength-based and Attachment focused counselling.
